Candy & Money Leis as Graduation Gifts

These are samples of some Candy & Money Leis that I've made (the model is my daughter). And, yes these are real dollar bills. The first one is just Candy. The 2nd is Candy & Money (dollar bills folded into "fan-shaped"). The 3rd is Candy & Money (dollar bills folded into "butterfly shaped")

Hello! Everyone,

As you all know, the end of the School year is fast approaching, which means Graduation. For some, end of May, and for others, June.

Anyway, I would like to share with you affordable gifts kids will love and treasure...well, for as long as they can, that is. (LOL)

Candy & Money Leis are great gifts and kids love them. I make and give them as gifts to friends and family for Birthdays & Graduations. As a matter of fact, my 13 year old daughter and her friends have requested for me to make leis for them for their 8th Grade graduation. Of course, I said yes and I will be making the leis in their school color. I would like to propose, to the Graduation Committee, making it for the entire 8th Grade Class as one of their gifts, but don't know how well that would go. This is not common here in Maine.

Giving Candy & Money Leis as gifts, especially for Graduation, is a tradition in Guam where I am originally from. As a matter of fact, I think kids expect them. Schools in Guam also use them for fund raisers. I would like to make a go at it as a home business, but, again, I don't know how it would pan out here in Maine. And, it would probably be a seasonal thing or maybe made to order. I might even make a few and sell them at a Craft Fair. I don't know...all I know is I enjoy making them.

Well, there you have it...I hope I didn't bore you too much. I welcome any comments or constructive criticism about my blog or any ideas on promoting my leis. Thank you for visiting.
